DONATION FOR A CAUSE
KOA runs a number of programs whose purpose is to protect, preserve, and promote Kashmiri ethnic and socio-cultural heritage, to promote and celebrate festivals, and to provide financial assistance to the needy and deserving.

Sponsor-a-Child Program - $225/child/year - The refugee camps in Jammu and Kashmir house hundreds of thousands of Kashmiri Pandits displaced from their homes as a direct result of the Islamic militancy in the valley. This tragedy has resulted in children being denied the opportunities that we take for granted. Since 1995, the Kashmiri Overseas Association, USA has implemented the Sponsor-A-Child Program for the age group 5 year olds to 17 year olds. This program aims to provide educational opportunities to the children directly affected by the tragedy. While individuals worldwide have contributed to these programs more children are in need of our financial support than currently available funds can support, there are many more that deserve our assistance.

Facts about this volunteer-driven program:
Goal: To provide tuition, school supplies and living expenses to school children who are currently living in refugee camps.
Zero-Overhead Program: 100% of the funds collected are distributed to the selected children through a registered non-profit organization in India. All people managing and coordinating these programs are volunteers.
Donations are tax-deductible. Provide your assistance today and help create a better family for tomorrow. There are needy and deserving children who will receive an education with your contribution. Together we can make a difference in the lives of our less fortunate children. To join this program as sponsors or if you need more information, please contact KOA President at (koaexecutive@yahoo.com). Thank again you for your support.

Help to Needy – Medical - Our Kashmiri brethren kicked out of their homeland, in a state of human, economic, and political brutality, they have been thrown to a life of refugees, at the mercy of the goodwill of fellow human beings and vagaries of chance - a leaf in a storm. Every year KOA gets hundreds of letters from KPs, mostly from Jammu, seeking financial help for their loved ones undergoing serious medical conditions. People in refugee camps are suffering numerous ailments. Harsh climate, unhealthy living conditions, high stress level have led to depression and a variety of ailments among the refugees. Problem is compounded by lack of medical facilities and equipment in the nearby areas. There are many instances where some people cannot even afford medication for their ailments. Demand is very high, there is a constant need for support, please help. Please donate generously towards KOA’s Medical Fund.

Help to Needy – General - KP community members, after the exodus from Kashmir are trying their level best to survive. They are scattered all over in India. Many a times, community members are met with accidents, or other unfortunate situations which leaves them or their dependents in a distress situation and need immediate financial help to take care of the unforeseen situation. Every year KOA gets many letters from KPs, seeking financial help. Problem is compounded by lack of networking among our community. There are many instances where some people cannot even afford to have cremation for their loved ones. Demand is very high, there is a constant need for support, please help. Please donate generously towards KOA's Distress Fund. Your Community needs your help.
