Smt. Indra Tiku (Taku)
Date of passing: 2025-10-02

With profound grief and sorrow, we inform the sad demise of our beloved Smt. Indra Tiku (daughter of Late Shri Ram Chandra Taku and Late Smt. Shanta Taku / Pyari Bhabhi) at her residence on Thursday, 02 October 2025.
Fondly known as Rani Bhabhi / Behna, she was the devoted wife of Late Shri A. K. Tiku (Tatha / Yandu Ji).
A loving wife, caring mother, and affectionate grandmother, she was admired by all for her simplicity, kind heart, and ever-smiling presence. She was the only, and much-cherished, sister to five brothers: Shri J.L. Taku, Shri C.L. Takoo, Late Shri A.K. Takoo, Late Shri R.K. Taku, and Shri Ashok Takoo.
A Life of Faith and Strength
Smt. Indra Tiku was a woman of immense spiritual strength. Deeply religious, her faith was shaped early by Iswarswaroop Swami Laxmanjoo Ji, and she later received spiritual initiation from the Ramakrishna Mission.
Her devotion was reflected in her daily spiritual practices, regular reading of the Ramakrishna Gospel and the Ramayana, and frequent, memorized recitations of the Lalita Sahasranama. Her unwavering faith sustained her through life’s many challenges, notably her survival of a brain tumour surgery in 1973, which she often referred to as her "rebirth."
The True Annapurna
She was the quintessential host, affectionately known as a “true Annapurna” (goddess of food). Her generosity knew no bounds. She insisted that every visitor to her home be offered something to eat, embodying the spirit of selfless service and hospitality.
A Brilliant Mind
Smt. Indra Tiku was an intellectually gifted and well-read individual. She held a Master’s degree in Economics, excelled in Mathematics and Political Science, and maintained a keen intellectual curiosity throughout her life.
An avid reader of the daily newspaper and a regular follower of current affairs, she remained deeply informed and engaged with the world around her.
