Shri Chaman Lal Koul
Date of passing: 2025-10-11

Shri Chaman Lal Koul, beloved father of Arun Koul of Andover, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully in Jammu today, following recent health challenges. A retired resident of Jammu, he lived with a vibrant, youthful spirit and a quintessential Kashmiri sense of humor that endeared him to all.
Known for his warmth and his remarkable ability to connect with people of all ages, he nurtured deep bonds with his siblings, cousins, and friends—relationships rooted in love and generosity. His unwavering support was especially evident during his wife’s 14-year battle with cancer.
A devoted son of Kashmir, he was the only one among seven siblings to build his career in the Valley, leaving only during the unrest of the early 1990s, when he was compelled to accept a post in Jammu. By divine grace, he was able to revisit his beloved Kashmir just months ago, reconnecting with its temples and cultural landmarks after more than 30 years.
He is survived by his son, Arun Koul (koularun@gmail.com, 978-902-7426), and daughter-in-law, Pamma Koul, his daughter, Rajni Kaul Sahib, and son-in-law, Ravi Kaul Sahib (formerly of Jammu, now in Indore); and his grandchildren, Dhruv, Shehjar, Arman, and Shyan.
On behalf of KOA, we extend our heartfelt prayers to the family during this time of remembrance. May they find strength, comfort, and peace in the love and memories that surround them.

Our condilences to the family and prayers for all.
