Smt. Kamla Wali

Date of passing: 2025-09-25

Kamla Wali

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Smt. Kamla Wali (née Khosa), affectionately known to all as Babi, who passed away on September 25, 2025.

Babi was a loving matriarch, known for her devotion to her family, and was cherished for the immense love she shared with them. Having grown up in the Khosa family, she played a vital role in raising her two daughters, Nancy Kaw and the late Santosh Shah, alongside the children of her late husband Shri Radha Krishen Wali's brother in a large, joint Wali family. She was especially close to her great-grandchildren: Sudhridh, Arianna, Sahaj, Nishan, and Gianna.

Her last time in Kashmir came before her four-year visit to the United States in 1988 with her daughter Nancy Kaw and her husband Ravi Kaw. Following the Kashmiri Pandit exodus, she returned to a new life in Jammu with her daughter Santosh, where she resided before returning to the U.S. where she has lived for the past decade.

Amazingly, we were able to celebrate her 100th birthday just a few months ago with family and friends. Babi will be deeply missed, and her family's love for her will be a lasting tribute to her life.
